Sounds In The Suburbs present...

Graeme Clark (from Wet Wet Wet)

WEDNESDAY 4TH JUNE 2014

8.00pm

£12.00

Something a wee bit different for our next gig at Woodend, as we have an artist who is accustomed to playing and filling the big shows!

As a cornerstone of the record breaking, multi-million selling Scottish band Wet Wet Wet, bassist and songwriter Graeme Clark is no stranger to playing sell out stadium concerts all over the world. However, more recently he has been performing his own stripped back, intimate and acoustic songs at venues around the UK to an army of loyal and devoted fans.

Clark has reinvented himself as a wandering troubadour appearing at handpicked intimate venues with just his acoustic guitar, voice and his trademark homespun bittersweet humour. He adds ''I still have a couple of buddies on stage with me for moral support but I'm really at ease in these places”. Playing alongside Graeme will be honorary Wet Wet Wet member and guitarist Graeme Duffin and Iain Duff on piano and accordion.

After writing over 30 hits with the band which include Goodnight Girl, Sweet Little Mystery, Julia Says and Temptation, it's a wonder that he didn't bless us with his solo show sooner. Graeme's writing influences are clear as he plays his stunning solo material and covers some of the Wet's favourites in his own inimitable style. But while this is a soul man steeped in a history of wonderful pop music, there are other parts of the musical rainbow that are finding their way into the world of Graeme Clark.

There is a dogged determination to Graeme’s solo efforts and his new EP entitled Dry Land continues to mine a Celtic country rock vein that has its roots in Americana. Graeme admits ''It's easy to get washed away in the huge wave of success I enjoy with Wet Wet Wet but it's great to have my own career and a little piece of 'Dry Land' to hold on to”.
Get along to this one you will be in for a treat!
Cheers
Alan
