19 year old Lewis has released two albums to date, Gambling Machine and Empty Roads. Gambling Machine won this the 'Best Jazz/Blues Recording' category at this year’s Scottish New Music Awards, while I Got To Know from the album won a preliminary nomination in the British Blues Awards song writing category. Candlelight & Sympathy from Empty Roads will feature on the soundtrack of a new feature film 'Scar Tissue', due for release towards the end of 2012. Lewis has found himself sitting at the top of the Scottish Reverb Nation blues charts for months now, and his name spreading fast around the UK music scene with features in Blues Matters and other music magazines. The band have played in excess of 200 shows from Carlisle to Orkney and appeared at some of the UK’s biggest blues festivals, including Hebden, Maryport and Shetland. Lewis has also appeared on stage with several top musicians including Henrik Freischlader and Alan Nimmo. As a guitarist he pays tribute to some of the greatest musicians of the 20th century, taking influence from people like Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix and Rory Gallagher. He also incorporates playing styles from more modern blues-rock musicians such as, Joe Bonamassa, Derek Trucks and Matt Schofield. As a vocalist he has developed his own unique and powerful style of singing, while taking influence from the likes of Sting, Joe Cocker and Dave Mathews. Lewis also has talent for recording and runs his own studio in Auchterarder, Scotland, where all his music is written, recorded, produced, mixed and mastered by Lewis himself. Lewis has also released two compilation albums under his own label featuring the best of Scottish blues, entitled Jock’s Juke Joint. Thank you for the plug in issue 4! The two volumes include contributions from Lewis himself, Alan Nimmo, Gerry Jablonski and Blues N Trouble amongst many others. Songs from the first volume have been aired on over 20 radio shows within the UK, including Paul Jones’ Radio 2 show and received airplay overseas in countries such as the USA, Australia, France and the Netherlands. The reviews have been very positive. The second volume, just released, is receiving its first airplay this week. Lewis’ plans for 2013 include more shows and festival appearances within England, a European tour under Red Rock Management, while a new studio album is scheduled for the spring.
