Martin Metcalfe & The Fornicators
support from Lach
SUNDAY 29TH JUNE 2014
Ex Goodbye Mr MacKenzie front-man Martin Metcalfe plays his first major gig in Edinburgh for 3 years!!
Accompanied by his band the Fornicators who's members boast ex -Goodbye Mr Mackenzie producer Terry Adams, Metcalfe has been blowing away fans recently in packed gigs around Scotland playing a repertoire of old and new songs. The Voodoo Rooms gig will include all of this plus some other surprises (see below)…
Martin has also recently made a foray into the art world and his first exhibition of paintings in December 2013 garnered praise in the media and was heavily attended by a raggle-taggle group of art and music fans and other inhabitants of Edinburgh's underworld. This year another Exhibition of his work is being shown during the Edinburgh Art Festival. This Exhibit is to be accompanied with a book of images by Metcalfe and poetry by his old friend Paul Hullah. This venture is to be called 'Scenes' and is a reflection on the underground music scenes in Edinburgh during the 1980's when they both performed in a band called Teenage Dog Orgy.
Paul Hullah is luckily in the UK for the Voodoo Rooms gig in June and plans to join Metcalfe on stage to sing a few songs and perhaps read a bit of poetry accompanied by the Fornicators. Plans are also afoot to create a film piece to be shown on the Voodoo screen during the gig. Whatever happens the guys intend this to be an extra special Homecoming Gig for Martin Metcalfe and his Fornicators which promises to be a very special event with more details to follow - Support is from Lach.
